rose petal soap

July 30th, 2007 · No Comments

I found a recipe on another chat site that seems to be even simple
enough for me. Just one question, what is a “pure soap flake”.
Hope that question did not make you soapers fall off your chair
laughing, but I really don’t know. Here’s the recipe:
2 tbsp. dried red rose petals
8 oz. pure soap flakes
2/3 cup boiling water
1/2 cup rosewater
2 tbsp. ground almonds
9 drops geranium essential oil
Pound the petals with a mortar and pestle. In a bowl, mix the soap,
petals, and water and stir until smooth. Stir in the rosewater and
ground almonds; leave to cool. Mix in the essential oil. Shape into
6 balls and flatten them slightly; allow the soap to harden between
sheets of wax paper. Keep unused soap in a cool, dark place until
needed.
Thank you again,
Charmaine
