As of yet, I have not ventured into CP soaping, so this question is
inregards to adding oils into MP soap.
I’ve only tried it once or twice and the results were not very good.
To one 2lb batch, I added 1 tsp of shea butter. To another 2lb batch
of castille soap, I added 1 tsp of coco butter. Both batches lost
almost all lather.
Did I add too much butter to my MP base? Did I add the wrong butter
to the wrong base? Or am I completely off base here and you can’t
add a butter to MP?
TIA for any help, suggestions or thumps on the head you can give me.

the standard for adding oils or butters to M&P base is 1 TBS. total per
pound. some may affect lather, so testing would be required; but i don’t
recommend
going over the recommended amount.
