gritty bee’s wax

July 31st, 2006 · No Comments

Good morning group;
I purchased beeswax from a St. Louis candle & wax distributor and
found that the lip balm and lotion I used it in were gritty. I did
re-melt the lip balm which did not help at all (still gritty). Has
anybody ever had a gritty beeswax? Any suggestions how to resolve?
I have since purchased from a […]

Natural Soap Presevatives

July 29th, 2006 · No Comments

Hello Everyone,
I’m new to the group. You may get this message twice, because I sent
it from my hotmail account the first time and it doesn’t appear that
you recieved it.I’m probably being impatient.
I want to make my own soap. I won’t be making it from scratch at
this stage, because I’m travelling in Europe and it would […]

peppermint corn foot scrub

July 29th, 2006 · No Comments

That sounds like a wonderful scrub. Would it be rude to ask for the recipe?
I don’t intend to sell it, I usually just make it for gifts and such. I
work full time and go to school full time while simultaneously raising a 5
and 7 year old - don’t have time to sell actually. I just […]

Solid Perfume…”Meepy”

July 27th, 2006 · No Comments

Meepy, I am not sure what the difficulty may be in the
scent not staying in your product. Since the Essential oils
and Fragrances are the most volatile part of your recipe,
you want to add them last, and at the last possible moment
before your blend of wax and oils solidify or they will
evaporate in the heat. Maybe […]

?? on bath salts

July 27th, 2006 · No Comments

I have been making bath salts and using really nice salts, and on
occasion some glycerin, and I fragrance them with essential oil for
the added benefits. The problem I am running into is that they smell
incredible in the container, but i dont smell anything in the
bathwater. Now i do have some sinus issues, so it could […]

A little discouraged

July 26th, 2006 · 6 Comments

I am a candle maker and have just gotten into the B&B stuff.
Currently I make M&P and have made some cute soaps. I was thinking
of making bath salts but I was just in Wal-Mart and saw a HUGE
container of it for less than $3.00. I got to thinking, why would
someone buy this from me when […]

My first craft show

July 26th, 2006 · 2 Comments

Hello Everyone,
I was really excited and wanted to share with you all. I did my first
craft show yesterday, and i didnt think it would go really well, i
wasnt expecting much. I made almost $100, which for as small of a
show as it was, was incredible! My booth was the most popular (to my
surprise!) and i […]

Kelly Reno - some ???? for you

July 26th, 2006 · No Comments

Kelly
I printed off a few of your recipes (thank you!) and have some
questions. For the shower/bath gel, where do you get the
uncolored/clear liquid soap. Do you mean like the liquid Dial you
can buy in the stores? Where is a good place to get the clear aloe
gel? I found some in Wal-Mart and thought it was […]

acid-base reaction, was EO Blends Recipe

July 25th, 2006 · No Comments

Not a problem to answer questions… Chemistry was my favorite class in college.
In fact, I still remember my first acid-base reaction… I remember the thrill
of creating something totally different from the original two ingredients…
especially something relatively harmless from something dangerous/potentially
fatal.
And a ’salt’ isn’t always sodium chloride, i.e. table salt. Soap is a ’salt.’
Yes, you can […]
